We want YOU view
the room before you make a decision. Most people come here when
arriving in the East Bay (Berkeley/Oakland), view the room and then make
a decision. Some people are willing to take the room sight unseen. However,
that can create a lot of hassles and we are not willing to rent
to anyone sight-unseen.
-
We understand that having a friend
or a secretary look for you can be helpful. However, we do not show
rooms when they are occupied. There are no "sample" rooms - each room is
different. We do not want to rent it to your friend - because then you
are taking it sight unseen. There is a rental agreement and we want you
- not your friend or secretary - to sign it. We want to interact with the
person who will be here and not someone else.
-
Friends' opinions can be a problem, too. Friends tend
to evaluate the room and location from their perspective as a long term
resident with a car. Locals tend to favor "the hills" which are beautiful
- but extremely inconvenience, because public transportation is virtually
non-existent and there are no grocery stores or cafes. The cozyrooms are
in very urban areas on major bus lines, within
walking distance to cafes and other services - in other words - convenient
for visitors!
If you arrive early in the day, you can call, make
an appointment (between 9-11 am is when we make appointments for the day)
and come directly to view available rooms. If you have an international
flights coming into SF International late in the day - you probably won't
get to the East Bay until late. The best strategy is to go directly to
a motel and call us in the morning for an appointment to view available
rooms.
Fly into Oakland International, if possible. It is
closer and cheaper to get to UC Berkeley area. You can even take the BART!
