Rules:
    Curfews:
    • We do not have curfews and do not monitor the comings and goings of residents.
    Guests:
    • You can have a guest visit, come to dinner, and "hang out" - but you must be with your guest. Guests are not permitted to come and go independently. Overnight guests, however, are not permitted, except spouses and spouse surrogates traveling from a long distance (such as from Europe) for a short stay. (There is no sleeping on the floor.) Visiting spouse must be authorized and paid for in advance. There is a $7.50/night fee for authorized overnight guests; unauthorized overnight guests (people sneaking in) are charged $35/night. If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend down the street, we'll not rent to you because it is highly likely that the friend will be here at night - and we do not want to do "bed checks". Again, the rooms are for one person only.
    Single Occupancy Only:
    • We do not have curfews and do not monitor the comings and goings of residents.
    Ambiance:
    • The house is quiet. Residents are focused on serious pursuits, generally affiliated with the University and Labs. This is not a "party" environment.
    Possessions:
    • Residents are expected to keep their personal possessions inside their rooms and to not clutter up the common area with boxes or other things. Furniture in the rooms can not be moved to other rooms or storage.
    Cleaning Up:
    • Residents are expected to clean up after their use of the kitchen and bathroom, and to clean their own rooms.
    Quiet:
    • Residents are expected to be considerate of other residents, including being especially quiet when people are sleeping. Official quiet hours are 11 pm to 7 am. There are no parties, except with prior approval.
    Smoking:
    • There is no smoking permitted inside the building. Smoking is permitted on the front porch and deck.
    Pets:
    • No pets are permitted in the building and can not be kept on the premises. There is a pet boarding facility nearby.
    Parking:
    • Residents must park on the street. Residents and their guests may not stop, load or park in building driveway whch belongs to the neighboring building - even for a few minutes. Street loading and parking is very difficult. Bringing your car is discouraged. There are two non-conforming parking spaces (tamdem, one behind the other) available for small cars - with an extra fee, and written agreement.
    Mail:
    • Residents should make independent arrangements for handling their mail after they leave. Mail is not forwarded after departure.
    Phone Calls:
    • Residents are encouraged to use cell phone service. Residents wanting land-line phone service must arrange for their own service with the carrier. Service from the local phone company is inexpensive, but often the physical set-up is a hassle.
